Madrid
Arriving by plane
All flights arrive at Madrid-Barajas Airport, located 12 km from the city centre. It has four terminals T1, T2, T3 and T4 (with its satellite terminal T4S). Iberia Airlines and the rest of airlines belonging to the One World Alliance (British Airways, American Airlines, etc.) use terminal T4-T4S. With very few exceptions, other airlines use Terminal T1.
To reach the city centre from the airport
Subway
There are two Airport Metro stations. One is located at terminal T2 and the other one at terminal T4. If you arrive to terminal T1 use the internal walkway to terminal T2.
Metro tickets and bus tickets cost 1 € each (plus 1€ supplement for the Airport). At metro stations you can buy a combined ticket called "Metrobus" that is valid for ten trips (subway or bus) and costs 7.40 €. The Metro is closed at nights from 1 am to 6 am.
Line 8 will bring you to Nuevos Ministerios hub; estimated travel time is 20 to 30 minutes. Consult the Metro map.
Taxi
There are official taxi stands outside each terminal. Travel time to central Madrid may take between 20 and 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Cost is about €25-30. Taxis in Madrid are white with a red diagonal line across the front doors and are reasonably priced. You can hail them raising your hand at any point. A green light on the roof of the car indicates that the taxi is available.
Arriving by train
All trains arriving from the north will stop at Chamartin train station, about 4 km from the city centre. Metro lines 1 and 10 and buses number 5 and 80 will bring you to the city. Some trains (from the east coast or the south) may arrive at Atocha train station, almost in the city centre.
Reaching the conference site
IFEMA
Feria Madrid is located on the outskirts of Madrid. Metro line number 8 is the most convenient way to reach the site (Campo de la Naciones station).
